Do you want to teach Web design, code, and data journalism? Perhaps you'd want to join us at the University of Miami's Journalism department. We have a new lecturer position. Here's the description. I'm part of the search committee for this.
The teaching load is heavy, but there's an opportunity to make a big difference down here. We're planning new courses about computing and data in journalism, both at the undergrad and grad levels; those classes could interact with my visualization and infographics courses (in which I don't teach code,) and the person who gets the job will be in charge of developing them or expanding on what we already have. Besides, she/he could be involved not only in our journalism programs, but also in our Interactive Media MFA.
And it's in Miami. I don't need to mention the weather, right?
