Jon Schwabish's clutterplots

Jon Schwabish (Twitter) is one of the busiest people in visualization nowadays. He has a full time job as an economist at the federal government but, somehow, he's also able to teach workshops, speak at conferencesdesign graphics, offer advice through HelpMeViz, and keep a good blog updated, among tons of other things. I'm jealous of his productivity. Jon has recently published an article in the Journal of Economic Perspectives titled 'An Economist’s Guide to Visualizing Data.' It's a good intro to = visualization principles, and it presents a fun neologism, "clutterplot," which I'm planning to borrow (or to steal like an artist) for future presentations. Jon's article is now third in my list of recommended readings about infographics and visualization —which is in need of some organization, I know; working on it.
