Data, purpose, and beauty: Giorgia Lupi's Accurat

Giorgia Lupi's information design agency, Accurat, is the hottest name in visualization right now thanks to its creative projects, repeatedly showcased in places like Brain Pickings (1, 2, 3, 4, 5.) If you wish to know how Accurat's team is structured, and learn about the thinking process behind some of their graphics, watch the recent talk Giorgia gave at NYC's School of Visual Arts (h/t Visualoop.) I'm going to interview her for my next book, so I won't share any opinions here. I'd just like to say that I find Accurat's work fascinating, exciting, beautiful —and, nonetheless, slightly puzzling and worrisome. Go figure.

  1. I would call it art with an information aspect. Infotainment. Beautiful.
