X-raying NYC and feltronizing yourself

In a few weeks I'm flying to New York City to do research at ProPublica. In preparation for the trip, I'm going to ask my wife, the iPhone owner in the family, to download Tunnel Vision, an application that "turns any MTA subway map into an interactive exploration of NYC through data." Tunnel Vision was developed by Bill Lindmeier a graduate student at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Lindmeier's portfolio is quite impressive. Don't miss it. I very much enjoyed his Feltron Web Analyzer Chrome extension. It lets you 'feltronize' any website —just as a reminder, Nicholas Felton is the guy who designs those beautiful annual reports based on his own personal data. Tunnel Vision is both a parody and an homage to Felton's work.
